1.5. Heating (conditioning) and ventilation of salon

The systems of ventilation, heating and air conditioning established on the car effectively work at the closed windows and represent the uniform complex providing the most comfortable conditions in the car irrespective of weather conditions and ambient temperature. Temperature in salon is regulated by mixing of cold and hot air. The block of cooling of air conditioning system reduces temperature and humidity of air, clears it of dust. The heater increases air temperature at any operating modes of system.

NOTE
The air conditioning system is installed on a part of cars.

The complex provides the quick-response regulation of air temperature which is almost not depending on the speed of the movement of the car. The amount of the air coming to salon generally is defined by an operating mode of the fan therefore it needs to be included even in time of the movement with a high speed.
External air can come to salon through windows of doors at the lowered glasses and the airsupercharger located before a windshield. Air from the airsupercharger can come to interior of the car through nozzles of an obduv of a windshield, side and central nozzles, and also through the lower nozzles of the case of a heater.
The volume, temperature, the direction and intensity of air streams are regulated the switches installed in the control unit of systems of heating, ventilation and conditioning.
The direction of a stream of air through side and central nozzles can be changed turn of deflectors (in the vertical direction) and shutters (in the horizontal direction).
For change of temperature of the air coming to salon rotate temperature regulator handle. A blue part of a scale corresponds to supply of most cooled air, red — warmed most up. At average position of the handle in salon air at ambient temperature moves.
For increase in intensity of air supply during the movement and ensuring air supply in the motionless car include in salon the switch handle one of four operating modes of the fan of the airsupercharger.
For change of the direction of air supply choose as the handle of the regulator of distribution of streams of air one of four options (clockwise):
– air supply in the top part of salon (through side and central nozzles of the dashboard);
– air supply in the top and lower parts of salon (through side and central nozzles of the dashboard, and also through the lower nozzles of the case of a heater);
– air supply in the lower part of salon (through the lower nozzles of the case of a heater);
– air supply on a windshield (through nozzles of an obduv of a windshield).
For cooling of the air coming to interior of the car press turning on of the conditioner (if it is established on the car) the button – in it the control lamp of green color will light up. For switching off of the conditioner repeatedly press the button.

NOTE
The conditioner will not turn on if the switch of operating modes of the fan of the airsupercharger is installed in the provision of "OFF" (the fan is switched off) or temperature of air is below 0 °C. It is not a malfunction sign, and it is provided by a design.

PREVENTION
Turning on of the conditioner in operating time of the engine under trying conditions (long rises, the heavy city traffic and so forth) can lead to an engine overheat. You monitor indications of the index of temperature of cooling liquid: if temperature exceeds admissible value, switch off the conditioner. At long trips in the conditions of the city movement overall performance of the conditioner can decrease because of the busy thermal schedule of the engine. It is not a malfunction sign, at the movement in normal road conditions the conditioner will effectively work.

For inclusion of the mode of recirculation move the recirculation mode gate lever to the right. At the included recirculation mode external air does not come to salon, and the fan of the airsupercharger provides air circulation in salon. This mode is used for bystry warming up of salon in cold season, and also at the increased dust content and a gas contamination of air.

PREVENTION
Long inclusion of the mode of recirculation is not recommended during the movement of the car as it usually leads to fogging of glasses.

Depending on various combinations of turning on of switches of the control unit the system of heating and ventilation works in the following main modes:
– maximum mode of cooling. It is used in hot weather and after the long parking in the sun for bystry cooling of air in salon. In this case before turning on of the conditioner it is recommended to open for a while windows to remove heated air from salon.
Switches of the conditioner and recirculation of air have to be switched on;
– normal mode of cooling. It is used at trips around the city and in the country at moderately warm weather. The switch of the conditioner has to be switched on, the recirculation switch — is switched off;
– ventilation mode. It is used in off-season of which the lowered temperature and a lack of a sunlight are characteristic;
– maximum mode of heating. It is used at very low ambient temperature and for bystry warming up of air in salon after the long parking. The switch of the conditioner has to be switched off, the recirculation switch — is switched on;
– normal mode of heating. It is used in cold season for maintenance of optimum air temperature in salon after its intensive warming up in the maximum mode of heating. Switches of the conditioner and recirculation of air have to be switched off;
– mode of an obduv of a windshield and glasses of forward doors. It is used for bystry elimination of fogging of glasses at the increased humidity of air. The switch of the conditioner can be in any situation depending on ambient temperature, and the switch of recirculation has to be switched off.

NOTE
In order that glasses did not mist over in rainy weather, include the mode of their obduv at the switched-off heater as the difference of values of temperature of a surface of glass and the given air can cause moisture condensation.

USEFUL TIPS
For more effective action of ventilation and heating at a speed of the movement of the car less than 50 km/h and at journey of especially dusty sections of roads with the closed windows (for creation of excessive pressure of the air in salon preventing a dust suction) we recommend to turn on the switch the heater fan on small or maximum speed.
For the accelerated elimination of fogging of back glass and release it from frost and snow include the switch glass heating.
If you do not use the conditioner long time, it is necessary once a week for a while to include it at the working engine for restoration of a layer of lubricant on details of the compressor and consolidations.
