4.4.3. Replacement and adjustment of a tension of a belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism and replacement of its tension roller

According to the recommendation of manufacturer the belt of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism needs to be replaced through 60 thousand km of a run or each 6 years of operation (depending on what will come earlier). Also replace a camshaft drive belt if at survey you find:
– oil traces on any surface of a belt;
– wear tracks of a gear surface, a crack, undercuts, folds and peeling of fabric from rubber;
– cracks, folds, deepenings or cambers on an external surface of a belt;
– a razlokhmachivaniye or stratification on face surfaces of a belt.

PREVENTION
The belt with traces of engine oil on any its surface should be replaced as oil quickly destroys rubber. The reason of hit of oil on a belt (usually this violation of tightness of epiploons of cranked and distributive shaft) should be eliminated immediately.

NOTE
You carry out work on a viewing ditch, a platform or whenever possible on the elevator.

It will be required to you: a face key "on 10", cap keys or face heads "on 12", "on 17", a key "on 24", a key hexagon "on 5", sliding pincers, the screw-driver with a flat edge, sealant.
1. Take off a belt of the drive of the generator and pump of the hydraulic booster of steering (see. "Replacement of a belt of the drive of the generator and pump of the hydraulic booster of steering") and a conditioner compressor drive belt (see. "Replacement of a belt of the drive of the compressor of the conditioner").
2. For simplification of access remove the air filter (see. "Removal and installation of the air filter, muffler of noise of an admission and air duct").
3. Remove the right forward wheel.
4. Install the piston of the 1st cylinder in the provision of VMT of a step of compression (see. "Installation of the piston of the first cylinder in the provision of VMT of a step of compression").
5. Turn out a bolt of fastening of a pulley of a bent shaft …
6. … also remove a pulley.

GOOD ADVICE
The bolt of fastening of a pulley of a bent shaft will be tightened very big moment. To record a bent shaft from a provorachivaniye, include the V transfer and press a brake pedal (it the assistant has to make).

7. Turn out three bolts of fastening of the lower cover of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism …
8. … also uncover.
9. Remove the pump of the hydraulic booster of steering (see. "Replacement of the pump of the hydraulic booster of steering").
10. Uncover a head of the block of cylinders (see. "Replacement of laying of a cover of a head of the block of cylinders").
11. Weaken a belt tension for what the screw-driver, overcoming effort of a spring, turn clockwise a mobile level of a roller until combination of openings in it and an arm of a roller, then insert a pin of suitable diameter into openings, having recorded thereby a roller.
12. Take off a belt from the cogged pulley of a bent shaft, from a tension roller and pulleys of the water pump and the camshaft.
13. For replacement of a tension roller turn out a bolt of its fastening to the block of cylinders …
14. … also shoot a video.

NOTE
If you disassemble the gas distribution mechanism drive only for replacement of a tension roller, the belt of the drive can be not taken off.

15. Establish a roller as it should be, the return to removal, previously having recorded it to small beards (see item 11).
16. Check coincidence of adjusting tags of cranked and distributive shaft (see. "Installation of the piston of the first cylinder in the provision of VMT of a step of compression").
17. Put on a belt the cogged pulley of a bent shaft. Get a back branch of a belt for a tension roller and it is consecutive, pulling a forward branch, put on a belt pulleys of the camshaft and water pump.

18. Screw a bolt of fastening of a pulley in a shaft of a bent shaft and turn for a bolt a bent shaft on two turns. Check coincidence of adjusting tags of cranked and distributive shaft. At discrepancy repeat installation of a belt.
19. Take out small beards from openings of an arm and a mobile level, then turn a bent shaft on two turns. If the index on a mobile level of 2 (fig. 4.7) of a tension roller coincided with a cut on an arm 1, the belt is tense normally.
20. If the index on a mobile level did not coincide with a cut on an arm, weaken two screws of fastening of the water pump from below …
21. … and one from above.

NOTE
Three screws of fastening of the water pump are so located.

22. Adjust a belt tension turn of the case of the water pump, turning it clockwise and controlling belt tension degree according to indexes of a tension roller.
23. If the tension of a belt was regulated turn of the case of the water pump, check lack of a leak from under the case of the water pump. If necessary replace its sealing ring (see. "Replacement of the water pump").
24. Establish details as it should be, the return to removal.
25. Adjust a conditioner compressor drive belt tension (see. "Check and adjustment of a tension of a belt of the drive of the compressor of the conditioner") and a belt of the drive of the generator and the pump of the hydraulic booster of steering (see. "Check and adjustment of a tension of a belt of the drive of the generator and pump of the hydraulic booster of steering").
