The fulfilled gases are taken away from the engine through a final collector of 1 (fig. 5.17)
, a reception pipe 4 (fig. 5.18)
, converter 2, additional 4 (fig. 5.19)
and the main 1 mufflers.
Part of cars can be not equipped with catalytic converter of the fulfilled gases (a control system of the engine without feedback). In this case instead of it in system the pipe pro-rate equal on length is established to converter.

On a final collector the sensor of concentration of oxygen is installed.

The final collector is fixed by nuts on hairpins of a head of the block of cylinders. Between a head of the block of cylinders and a flange of a final collector the sealing metalreinforced laying of 1 (fig. 5.20)
The reception pipe is connected to flanges of a final collector and converter, and a converter flange — to a flange of a reception pipe of the additional muffler. In turn, the exhaust pipe of the additional muffler is connected to a reception pipe of the main muffler. Connections of mufflers with pipes non-demountable. All flange connections of system are condensed with the metalreinforced laying 3, 8 and 11. Each of elements of system can be removed separately without dismantle of other elements.
For reduction of transfer of vibrations from the power unit on system of release and a body in a reception pipe the vibrocompensating corrugated bellow valve 5 in a metal braid is built in.
Elements of system are suspended to a body on six rubber pillows 3 (see fig. 5.18
) and 5 (see fig. 5.19
) or 6 (see fig. 5.20
). And two pillows and a back suspension bracket of the main muffler, two pillows of a forward suspension bracket of the main muffler and a suspension bracket of a reception pipe, two pillows in suspension brackets of the additional muffler have the different form.
For protection of the engine and the basis of a body against heating by elements systems are installed the following steel thermoscreens: 2 (see fig. 5.17
) – before a final collector; 2 and 3 (see fig. 5.19
) – over the main and additional mufflers; 1 (see fig. 5.18
) – over converter.
The system of production of the fulfilled gases does not demand special service. Rather periodically to check reliability of an inhaling of threaded connections and an integrity of pillows of a suspension bracket. In case of damage of elements of system, through corrosion or a progara they are replaced assembled as mufflers together with pipes represent non-demountable knots.
Periodically check system of production of the fulfilled gases. At the increased noise level from system of release check its tightness. For this purpose launch the engine and examine all system. Having run a hand over places of possible leak, not concerning knots, you feel leak of gases at once. If necessary replace the rusted and burned through knots.
Before repair let's cool down to system of release as in operating time of the engine it heats up to high temperature.
The fulfilled gases are poisonous, poisoning with them occurs imperceptibly therefore before launch of the engine in a garage surely open gate!
For removal and installation of knots of system it will be required to you: keys "on 10", "on 12", "on 14".
At impossibility to replace defective knot new it is possible to restore temporarily its working capacity, having imposed a metal patch on the damaged place and having fixed it by collars or a wire. Under a patch it is recommended to enclose the sheet of asbestos.
Besides, in shops of auto parts there are on sale special sets for restoration of knots of system of production of the fulfilled gases by means of which it is possible to eliminate temporarily damages of system to reach to car service or a garage.
