5.14.5. Replacement of the fuel pump

If engine capacity falls, there was an increased noise or howlings during the operation of the fuel pump are periodically heard, then, most likely, the fuel pump failed.
Previously check pressure in a fuel supply system in the following order.
1. Check serviceability of the regulator of pressure of fuel (see. "Check and replacement of the regulator of pressure of fuel").
2. If pressure in system is less than 250 kPa (2,5 kgfs/cm2), replace the fuel filter (see. "Replacement of the fuel filter").
If in this case pressure does not increase, the fuel pump needs to be replaced as at the pump the hardly sorted design and its elements separately in spare parts are not delivered.
It will be required to you: the screw-driver with a flat edge, capacity for discharge of fuel from the module of the fuel pump.
1. Reduce pressure in a power supply system (see. "Pressure decrease in a power supply system").
2. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery.
3. Remove a pillow of a back seat (see. "Removal and installation of a back seat").
4. Hook the screw-driver …
5. … also remove a plastic cover of the hatch in the body basis over the fuel pump.
6. Wring out a clamp of a block of a plait of wires to the right …
7. … also disconnect a block from the module of the fuel pump.
8. Having squeezed plastic clamps, disconnect tips of a drain fuel-supply line from pump unions …
9. … and fuel-supply line of high pressure.
10. Turn the screw-driver a clamping ring of the module of the fuel pump counterclockwise until coincidence of grooves in a ring with ledges of a flange of the fuel tank …
11. … also remove a ring.
12. Having remembered position of the module of the fuel pump of rather fuel tank (to facilitate its installation at the return installation), accurately take the module and merge from it fuel in in advance prepared capacity.
13. Remove a sealing ring and examine it. Surely replace a ring if it is torn or pressed strongly out.
14. Install the module of the fuel pump as it should be, the return to removal, and in the same situation in which it was before removal (see item 12).

    
NOTE
The module of the fuel pump can be installed in the fuel tank only in one situation as the lower slanted part of a glass of the module leans the two rubber buffers in an inclined wall of the fuel tank. At installation of the module in a tank it will not be possible to enshrine it in any other provision by a clamping ring.
