5.5. Installation of the piston of the first cylinder in the provision of VMT of a step of compression

The piston of the 1st cylinder is installed in situation TDP (top dead point) of a step of compression in order that at work, connected with removal of a belt of the drive of the camshaft, installation of phases of gas distribution was not broken. At violation of phases of gas distribution the engine will normally not work.
Expose VMT on a tag on a camshaft pulley (at installation on tags on a pulley of a bent shaft in this situation there can be a piston of the either the 1st, or 4th cylinder). After that be surely convinced of coincidence of tags on the cogged pulley of a bent shaft (if the generator drive pulley is removed). If tags on a pulley of a bent shaft do not coincide, so installation of phases of gas distribution is broken (the piston of the 1st cylinder is not installed in VMT). In this case it is necessary to take off a belt of the drive of the camshaft and to turn a bent shaft before combination of tags.
    
GOOD ADVICE
As it is inconvenient to turn a bent shaft for a bolt of fastening of a pulley to it, it is possible to make it the next ways:
1) include any transfer (better the fourth) and slowly give a ride to the car before combination of tags;
2) include any transfer and you will hang out one of forward wheels. Then turn the hung-out wheel before combination of tags

The tag of 4 (fig. 5.3) on the cogged pulley of the camshaft has to be combined with a cut (a tag 3 in fig. 5.3) on a back cover of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism.
At the same time the tag on a pulley of the drive of auxiliary units (the painted hollow of a gear wreath of a pulley) has to be opposite to the index (ledge) on the lower cover of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism.
Besides the tag is put also on the cogged pulley of a bent shaft. She becomes visible after removal of a pulley of the drive of auxiliary units. The triangular tag on the cogged pulley has to coincide with a cut on the lower cover of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism.
It will be required to you: face heads "on 10", "on 17", a key "on 12".
2. Remove the right forward wheel.

    
PREVENTIONS
Weaken an inhaling of bolts of fastening of a wheel only on the car standing on the earth.
If you work at a viewing ditch or a platform, enclose persistent whetstones under wheels, slow down the car the parking brake and establish a forward part of the car on a reliable support.

3. Remove the right mudguard of the engine (see. "Removal and installation of mudguards of the engine").
4. Remove a conditioner compressor belt at its existence (see. "Replacement of a belt of the drive of the compressor of the conditioner").
5. Take off a belt of the drive of the generator and pump of the hydraulic booster of steering (see. "Replacement of a belt of the drive of the generator and pump of the hydraulic booster of steering").
6. Turn out three bolts of fastening of a pulley of the pump of the hydraulic booster of steering, holding a pulley from a provorachivaniye the screw-driver …
7. … also remove a pulley.
8. Weaken two bolts of fastening of the pump of the hydraulic booster of steering, without turning out them absolutely.

NOTE
It is necessary to weaken fastening of the pump of the hydraulic booster of steering because without withdrawal of the pump from the engine it will not be possible to separate forward and lower covers of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism and to remove a forward cover.

9. Turn out four bolts of fastening of a forward cover of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism and uncover.
10. Turn a bent shaft for a bolt of fastening of a pulley to it before coincidence of a tag on a camshaft pulley with a cut on a back cover of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism.
11. Check coincidence of a tag on a pulley of the drive of auxiliary units with the index on the lower cover of the drive of the gas-distributing mechanism.
