10.7.6. Check and replacement of sensors of a control system of the engine

The sensor of temperature of cooling liquid is installed in an end face of a head of the block of cylinders from the 4th cylinder under the ignition coil.
The sensor represents a thermistor with negative temperature coefficient: electric resistance of the sensor decreases with temperature increase. The controller processes a signal of the sensor and establishes optimum enrichment of working mix at warming up of the engine.
At the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid check resistance on sensor conclusions at various temperature conditions.
It will be required to you: a key "on 19", a tester, the thermometer.
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Merge cooling liquid (see. "Replacement of cooling liquid").

GOOD ADVICE
Cooling liquid can be not merged, and after removal of the sensor to stop up an opening with a finger or a stopper — loss of cooling liquid will be minimum.

3. Wring out a clamp and disconnect a block of a plait of wires from the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid.
4. A key weaken a sensor inhaling …
5. … also turn out the sensor from a head of the block of cylinders.

NOTE
Connection of the sensor with a head of the block of cylinders is condensed with a washer. Replace strongly pressed out washer new.

6. Connect a tester to conclusions of the sensor and measure resistance, and the thermometer measure the current temperature.
7. For measurement of resistance on sensor conclusions at various temperature conditions lower the sensor in hot water and check change of its resistance in process of water cooling, controlling water temperature the thermometer. Nominal rates of resistance at various temperature are specified in tab. 10.5.

8. At resistance deviation from norm replace the sensor.
9. Screw the sensor of temperature of cooling liquid and tighten its moment 20 N · m.
10. Connect a block of a plait of wires to the sensor.
11. Fill in cooling liquid.

The air temperature sensor on an admission is pasted in the airbringing sleeve. The sensor represents a thermistor with negative temperature coefficient: electric resistance of the sensor decreases with temperature increase. According to information on air temperature from the sensor the controller regulates amount of injectable fuel.
At the sensor of temperature of the soaked-up air check resistance on conclusions at various temperature conditions.
It will be required to you: the screw-driver with a crosswise edge, a tester, the thermometer, passatizh.
1. Switch off ignition.
2. Squeeze a spring clamp and disconnect a block of a plait of wires from the sensor.
3. Connect a tester in the voltmeter mode to conclusions of a block of a plait of wires, include ignition and measure sensor supply voltage. Tension has to make (5,0±0,2) Century.
4. Squeeze passatizham the unbent short moustaches of a collar and shift a collar on a hose.
5. Disconnect a hose of ventilation of a case from the union of the airbringing sleeve.
6. Weaken a collar of fastening of the airbringing sleeve to the air filter …
7. … also disconnect a sleeve from the air filter.
8. Similarly disconnect the airbringing sleeve from throttle knot.
9. Connect a tester in the ohmmeter mode to conclusions of the sensor and measure its resistance. Take the thermometer the current air temperature and compare the received values to tab. 10.6.
10. At resistance deviation from norm replace the sensor assembled with the airbringing sleeve.

The sensor of provision of a bent shaft of the engine consisting of a magnet and a winding is installed at a gear wreath of a pulley of a bent shaft.
At emergence of malfunction in a chain of the sensor of provision of a bent shaft the engine ceases to work, the controller brings a code of malfunction in memory and includes an alarm lamp in combinations of devices. In this case check the sensor and a gear wreath for lack of teeths, a beating or other damages.
It will be required to you: a key hexagon "on 5", a tester.
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Squeeze a clamp and separate a block of a plait of wires of the sensor of provision of a bent shaft.
3. Take a block of the sensor of provision of a bent shaft from the holder.
4. Turn out a bolt of fastening of the sensor …
5. … also take the sensor from an opening in the block of cylinders.
6. Connect probes of a tester and measure resistance on conclusions "1" and "2" sensors. The nominal rate of resistance has to be within 0,5–0,6 kOhm. If resistance does not correspond to the specified limits, replace the sensor.
7. Install the sensor of provision of a bent shaft of the engine as it should be, the return to removal.

The sensor of provision of a butterfly valve represents the variable resistor which is installed on an axis of a butterfly valve. Rotation of an axis of the gate causes change of tension of a signal of the sensor by which the controller determines extent of opening of a butterfly valve.
It will be required to you: two keys "on 10", a tester.
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Disconnect a block of a plait of wires from the sensor, having wrung out a clamp.
3. Connect a tester in the mode of measurement of resistance to conclusions "In" and "From" the sensor and measure resistance at completely closed butterfly valve. Resistance has to make 1–3 kOhm.

    
NOTE
Sensor conclusions are so designated.
Designations are put also on a block of a plait of wires.


4. A hand turn a butterfly valve before its full opening and again measure resistance. It has to make 5,5–7,5 kOhm.
5. Turn out two screws of fastening …
6. … also remove the sensor of provision of a butterfly valve.
7. Install the sensor of provision of a butterfly valve as it should be, the return to removal.

The sensor of the absolute pressure (depression) in an inlet pipe is installed in a motor compartment on a front board. The sensor fixes change of pressure (depression) in the inlet pipeline depending on change of loading and frequency of rotation of a bent shaft of the engine and will transform it to tension of an output signal. The electronic control unit gives the engine on the sensor the supply voltage of 5 V and processes its signals arriving on a signal transmission chain. The sensor is connected to "weight" via the variable resistor. Depending on a signal of the EBU sensor counts amount of the air which came to the engine.
You will need the voltmeter.
1. Check a sensor power-supply circuit. For this purpose …
2. … disconnect a block of a plait of wires from the sensor (at the switched-off ignition) …
3. … connect a tester in the voltmeter mode to conclusions "And" and "From" a block (designations of conclusions are applied on the block case), include ignition and measure tension. Supply voltage has to make (5,0±0,2) Century.
4. Switch off ignition and connect a block of a plait of wires to the sensor.
5. Remove its cover from a block, having wrung out clamps, and connect a block to the sensor.
6. Connect a tester in the voltmeter mode to the plait wire connected to a conclusion "In" and to "weight", launch the engine and measure sensor tension. During the operation of the engine idling tension has to make (1,3±0,4) Century.
7. At tension deviation from norm replace the sensor of absolute pressure.
8. Switch off ignition and disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery.
9. Disconnect a block of a plait of wires from the sensor and establish into place its cover.
10. Disconnect a vacuum hose from the sensor.
11. Holding bolts from a provorachivaniye, turn off two nuts of fastening of the sensor and remove it.

12. Install the sensor of the absolute pressure (depression) as it should be, the return to removal.

The sensor of speed of the car is installed on the transmission. The sensor represents Hall's sensor. It gives on an electronic control unit the engine the pulse signal proportional to the frequency of rotation of driving wheels.
1. For replacement of the sensor of speed disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Wring out a clamp and disconnect a block of a plait of wires from the speed sensor.
3. Unscrew the sensor from the speedometer drive …
4. … also remove it.
5. Install the speed sensor as it should be, the return to removal.

The sensor of concentration of oxygen is installed on a final collector. The sensor measures the content of oxygen in the fulfilled gases and will transform the measured size to tension of a signal which is given on an electronic control unit by the engine. Using sensor signals, the controller operates fuel injection so that to receive settlement composition of fuel-air mix.
If the sensor of concentration of oxygen is faulty, toxicity of the fulfilled gases can sharply increase, and fuel consumption will increase.
It will be required to you: keys "on 12", a tubular key "on 22", bokoreza.
1. Disconnect a wire from the minus plug of the rechargeable battery.
2. Turn out two top bolts of fastening of the thermoscreen, weaken the lower bolt …
3. … also remove the thermoscreen from a final collector.
4. Have a bite a collar of fastening of a block of the sensor.

    
NOTES
At installation replace a collar new.
If the collar is tightened slightly, then it is possible not to have a bite it, and just to pull out from under it a block of the sensor of concentration of oxygen.

5. Wring out a clamp and separate a block of the sensor of concentration of oxygen.
6. Pass a sensor wire through a key …

8. Weaken an inhaling of the sensor of concentration of oxygen …
