6.2.10. Repair of differential

Wear or breakage of details of differential can be one of the reasons of the increased noise in the transmission.
It will be required to you: a face head "on 15", a universal stripper, a mandrel for a press fitting of bearings, screw-drivers with a flat edge, small beards, the hammer.
1. At strong wear of teeths of a gear wheel of the drive of a speedometer replace a gear wheel. For this purpose part with the screw-driver the ends of a lock ring and at the same time the second screw-driver shift on a differential box pin a gear wheel together with a ring.
2. For replacement of the worn-out or damaged bearing press it from a differential box pin.
    
PREVENTIONS
The bearing pressed in the shown way is not suitable for repeated installation as its separator is damaged. Therefore needlessly do not dismantle differential bearings. When replacing bearings of differential surely replace their external rings established in an adjusting nut and a cover of the bearing (see. "Dismantling and assembly of the transmission and troubleshooting of its details").

14. Examine differential box surfaces in places of work of basic washers of gear wheels. At strong wear of surfaces replace a differential box.
15. Remove small roughnesses on necks of an axis of satellites with a fine-grained emery paper. At a navolakivaniye or at their unilateral wear replace an axis with necks of metal of satellites.
16. In the presence of chips, vykrashivaniye and considerable development of teeths of the conducted gear wheel of the main transfer replace a gear wheel.

NOTE
When replacing of the conducted gear wheel of the main transfer it is necessary to replace at the same time and the leading gear wheel (a secondary shaft) as these gear wheels select for noise and establish only in couple.

17. Collect differential as it should be, the return to dismantling, taking into account the following:
– press the fixing pin of an axis of satellites in a differential box opening from that party in which it was beaten out;
– differential bearings to a napressovyvayta on differential box pins, putting effort to an internal ring;
– before a napressovka on a pin of a box of differential of a gear wheel of the drive of a speedometer heat a gear wheel in an oil bathtub to temperature of 80 °C;
– the conducted gear wheel of the main transfer to a napressovyvayta on a differential box, having combined the tags put when dismantling and having heated a gear wheel in an oil bathtub to temperature of 100 °C;
– grease a carving part of bolts of fastening of the conducted gear wheel with an anaerobic clamp of a carving, tighten bolts evenly cross-wise. Finally tighten bolts the moment of 70 N · m (7,0 kgfs · м).
